I got an iPod shuffle!

OMG, has it really been 20 days since I last posted? I guess time stamps don't lie. I miss you, blogger. I'll be back soon, I promise. I have so many posts just waiting to be written and made more interesting with pictures, still in my head.

But for now: I got an ipod shuffle! For free! I had been thinking about getting one about a year or so ago. Since they're the size of a postage stamp and practically weightless, they're great for exercising. I decided against it, though, and I was just thinking two days ago about how I'm glad I did. I'd use it if I had one, but there's no need to spend $85 on it, I thought.

Then, that very day, Erich sent me a Google chat message asking if I wanted one. His company gave them out to employees in celebration of 15 years in business. I said, "Sure!" He brought it home, and I got it set up and played with it. Then I told Erich that we could share it if he wanted. (You see, he had agreed with me that it's a cool device but that it's not a good way to spend money, so I thought he was just offering it to me.) His eyes widened as he replied, "No way! I'm using my own!"

His wonderful company, who gives two extra weeks vacation for honeymoons and will completely cover our health care very soon, had given ME my very own iPod. Things like that make the 1hr+ commute just a little more bearable.

In other news, I have the hiccups! Quick, someone startle me!

PSA

Do you have a Google Reader? If not, you need one.

Sometimes I wonder how I would spend certain hours of my day if it weren't for Google Reader. But then I perish the thought because it's just too scary.

How many times have you gone to your favorite website, like, say, thenewkeller.blogspot.com and have found no updates? So you forget to check it for a while then come back to find an apparent explosion of posts in the last two months? Well, thanks to Google Reader, you would never worry about missing posts or forgetting to check.

How does it work? It's very simple. You simply have to have a Google account--if you're on blogger or have a gmail account, that's done already. Add your favorite blogs and news sources to the reader and every time those websites are updated, the RSS feed goes to your Google Reader and it looks just like email! You'll never miss an update and you'll find all your favorite websites' content a laid out in one organized webpage.

Curious? Check out http://www.google.com/reader and select "Take a tour." You, like me, will wonder how you ever did without it!

So Sad, So Funny

Pardon me, I'll be in the fridge.
