It happens in the midwest too

There was an earthquake last night! Or, I should say, early this morning. Erich and I are quite disappointed that we slept through it. Apparently people in the Chicago area had furniture moving around. And we slept through it! Yaaargh!

Oh well. I felt an earthquake once before, during the summer of 2004. The windows rattled. <sarcasm> And that's about the most exciting thing that ever happens in the Midwest. </sarcasm>

Did anyone else feel it? If so, I hope you had a great earthquake and no damage!

I felt it! I woke up thinking "why is my bed shaking?" Then, about 1 minute later, Chris called me going nuts because things really shook in Charleston (only 70 miles from the epicenter!)

A bad dream actually woke me right as the quake was being felt in our area; my bed and miscellaneous furniture pieces were trembling a bit. Normally I can't stand being rudely awakened at 4:30am, but it was definitely an interesting experience.

I can say that nothing, including earthquakes, will wake me up at 4:30 in the morning!

We felt it! But we only live 25 miles from it. It was quite scary. did your inlaws feel it? i forgot to ask them in church today.
as far as damage--all of our wall pictures are now crooked, and i had a paper from a couple sundays ago resting on the arm of a chair and it fell onto the cushion.
